Traditionally, when working on an application, it reacts to user requests. When we talk about notifications, quite the opposite happens, it is the application that is going to be put in contact the user to notify what happens at a certain event.

For example: It doesn't make much sense to wait for a purchase order to be authorized and to have to constantly check the system to see if the purchase order was authorized or not.
